Hi everbody,
I am new to this forum and would like to present myself.
I am German and I am planning to move to the Emirates in winter to work. I know it's still a while until then and I have plenty of time....but I like to plan in advance. Not for security reasons but because it gives me positive energy.
Right now I am still studying - MA Islamic Culture Studies - and I am in the middle of my exams.....so I need some positive future ideas to keep going on and being in a good mood...
I definately want to move to the Emirates but I am quite open when it comes to the question "where exactly" in the Emirates.
Most expats stay in Dubai, but because of my study background and interest in culture I am thinking of working in Sharjah! I like the concept of this smaller Emirate very much - and I don`'t mind that it is quite strict and conservative ( I am used to that from Kuwait and Sudan).
By the way I also posted in the "Job section" wherer I wrote little more about myself....

Hey Ghaima, welcome to the forum! There are lots of opportunities in the Emirates, one just needs to be patient and persistant; if you are good enough, surely you will be hired eventually. I think you should also look at opportunities in Abu Dhabi, besides Dubai. What kind of work are you looking for?

I have been here 14 months. I love Dubai!!! It`s a crazy place with many interesting people.
And I love the weather here.......except the heat in summer.
You will like it. Don`t worry.

thanks for your reply. I know I have to be patient - but honestly, being patient is not really my best talent. I like getting things done and I like everything to happen fast.... that's the bad part of my character ( on the contrary I am very patient with other people - that's why I am good at teaching!)
You asked me what kind of job I am looking for: I wrote a lot about this issue in the "Job section". So to make it short: Tourism and Culture / Public Relations.
About searching in Abu Dhabi - Yes, good idea. I will contact the Abu Dhabi's Cultural Foundation, the Zayed Centre for Heritage and History and the Shaykh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding. They sound quite interesting to me.
And the State Authority for Tourism and Culture in Sharjah.

don`'t worry. I won't feel out of place! :)
I love to be togehter with people speaking different languages and having different cultural backgrounds.....so I can never feel out of place - wherever people come from and wherever I stay on this planet.
If I would become 100 years I would like to learn 20 languages....but because of limited time and energy I will stop once I have reached 10! (So three more! I am thinking about Amharic, Swaheli; Tigrinja, Hindi or Urdu)
