It has already been discussed in the past Wafaey. Please use the
search facility before you post.
This idea has been turned down because we moderators beleive that we need a neat and clean forum that can be controlled for rude and/or indecent posts/comments. Chat forums are too unruly.
Also, this is a FORUM not a chatroom. There are numerous Dubai chat rooms out there and by creating one here, we will detract from our original mission.
For now, its a no go. Sorry.

I know some forums run a parallel chatroom in MIRC for those interested, but I guess again its up to the mods.

well we could set up an alternate "project". I dunno some kind of mirc channel or something. I was definitely thinking about it considering sometime ppl start posting as if they were actually chatting... You end up with 100 posts/PMs in 1/2 h :lol:
Arnie why would this be a problem? You could restrict the chatroom access the same way you restrict access to FC. That way we wouldn't be bothered by morons or s.e.x offenders wannabes :lol:

actually i have a shameless plug to this forum its pretty new but it has the potential. Chat room, arcade, world cup theme .. the admin is pretty active in keeping things up to date and lots of add on things that make it fun. Even the shoutbox is a pretty cool idea. I am pretty sure the the admin here is pertty busy and doesnt have time to maintin it, but cant you delegate admin functions to another person ? i am sure you can do a good job sniper.

we could set up our own irc channel, which would be only for DF members but not managed by the DF , i have already set up such a channel for my school last year.

there was a guy who created an irc channel but couldnt get ppl to sign in.............my advice is to make special post in DF General and fix a time to chat this way many ppl will show up

do you know how to set up an IRC channel? (register it, set OPs...)
I've never really used IRC except to download movies, mp3s but I do remember some admin stuff back from my highschool days :lol:

i think i have some basic knowledge, registering and giving ops is easy, the tougher part is setting up bots and java web applet for newbies who dont use irc clients.
edit: anyways, the internet is full of tutorial, the thing is finding enough people who agree on such a thing to tag along.

Chatroom will mean alot of people here for different reasons and picking up gurls.
Also with the forum, History is tracable.
