Hello everybody,
May I introduce myself: Desert Rat Wannabe, nice to meet you all, pleased to be here with you on this forum. - As you may imagine from my nick, I would love to find a new job in Dubai and start a new life here. I’m currently on a visit, and I was wondering if you folks had some good ideas on how to improve my job search. Whom should I begin to talk with? Already from back home in Italy, I had started sending resumes and registering with employment agencies, but with little or no return. Would it be a good idea to simply drop into potential employers’ offices to leave my resume and try to get an opportunity to talk to their hiring managers? I often found it hard to get them even on the phone, so making appointments prior to going there sometimes seems to be an overly daunting task.
I’m an automotive aftermarket expert with over ten years’ experience in assisting customers with planning their vehicles’ repairs and with spare parts procurement. I also have some experience with training auto mechanics.
I would also consider jobs in other fields to get started with.
Double citizenship Canadian and Austrian, if this is of any interest.
