O-Levels need help

sage & onion Hi all, Our 16 year old son could do with some additional tuition coming up to his O-levels, anyone have a name or contact for us, please leave a message PM or e-mail. Thanks & all the best S & O
sage & onion Help still required asc_26 What's O-Levels? Is this equivalent to high school? I don't know. benwj He is 16, so its probably the year 10 certificate/junior high/ when you can leave to do an apprentiship etc or do another 2 years to get a tertiary entrance qualification. The quadratic equation is about as hard as it gets. I would have thought that the school could provide after school help, or at least recommend someone. What about the teachers getting a bit of extra pocket money on the side for tuition? Or am I asking a bit too much? e-insurance I provide tuition in maths, english and verbal/non-verbal reasoning, but i'm still in the UK and will not be in Dubai for another month or two. Paul dualcitizen Is tuition like tutoring? mighty.one Yes tution is tutoring. And in regards to 'o levels' i thing s&a is referring to the following: The General Certificate of Education or GCE is a secondary-level academic qualification, which was used in Britain and continues to be used in some former British colonies. It is often divided into two levels: Ordinary level (O-level) (replaced in 1986 by GCSE) and Advanced level (A-Level), although other categories exist. Concord
On what subjects? sauron

Hopefully tutoring his kid. mighty.one LOL sage & onion
Unfortunately it is illegal for teachers to offer private tuition, and seems to be really a problem if they teach at the same school. sage & onion
Maths Physics & French
Thanks asc_26 It would be nice if DF members will volunteer to tutor him. I recommend Concord for math. Concord
I happen to be very good at math (all the way to linear algebra at university) and physics (to quantum physics) but have no patience to teach! Concord
But who would tell? I would imagine it would be best if the teacher is from a different school and the teenager knows not to tell (not lying just not telling!). Surely there are some teachers on the forum who do not work as teachers (I know of one but she wouldn't have the time at the moment and probably not for months)! asc_26
S&O, this is what we're going to do. You have to tutor the subject of patience101 to Concord first, then he will tutor math & physics to your son.
Let's pass the hat. Dhs.10/- from me for Concord's dawg (K-9). Concord
by then his kid will be nearing retiring age
^ian^
I thought he meant grandkid anyway    sage & onion Thanks all for the offers and banter, we have found an institute that covers the tuition required for Maths & physics and a friend will help out on the French. Hey Ian, Whilst we will also require some tuition for our Grandkids, thats a few years down the road
