hey guys
jus dont ignore x trail as an off roader
last week i went to desert on the way to hatta
a dude was driving x trail inside with ease...
but i dont expect it to climb the high dunes...
about the output... its fantastic on the road...
182 bhp from a 2.5 l engine
reaches 100 in 9 sec
its a very light weight vehicle compared to others like CR-V, Rav 4 , etc...

Hi
I am not a huge car person, pretty much if i dont think its ugly it will get a tick from me :D
But i do realise there are other factors to consider when buying one.
My husband is a Nissan man - so getting a nissan is top priority, we ideally want a 4x4, but i dont want anything big and chunky!
Have seen the x-trails on the road, and they pass my not ugly, and not too chunky test, so want to get some feedback from people that may have one/driven one.
Are they any good? and if so would you reccomend new or used?
Thanks
H

If it has to be a Nissan, there are other 4x4's that they do. I like the Murano personally.

The Murano falls into my "too chunky" category and i think its ugly - but ignoring my hugely technical opinion...
What is it about it that makes you like it?

Hardly chunky, in fact it looks quite sleek and agressive. Chunky would be the Armada. And the Xtrail is a bit on the ugly/boxy side.. just my 2 fils..

The Armada is not chunky its a city :)
I like the boxyness of the X, the murano reminds me of a jelly bean.
Anyone got any non appearance based opinions/ recommendations for Nissan 4x4s

What about Range Rover LR3, a shoe box i think would be the best Description!!

Oooh - not quite a Nissan (even though its the same company), but what about the Acura 4x4 (can't remember its name), but that is really really nice!
As for the Murano - well it just looks quite funky - imho

Yeah the Murano looks funky :) You dont get Acura here unfortunately.. But if all youre considering is Nissans, I had a pathfinder before and it was a nice SUV, no complaints. Not a fan of the new shape, but its a good ride, way better than the Xtrail. But it really depends on what you want, if its just a suv to get from A to B, then xtrail is just fine..

The X-Trail and the Murano both suck off road. If I went for either, Murano easily. Both drive like cars, but I seriously think the X-Trail should be taken into the desert and shot. Of course, the Murano is way more expensive than the X, and the X is painfully popular.

I'll send you a sped-up video of my speedo too. Also search for the video where a guy on an electric stand-up scooter outruns a Corvette.
