Just pop a niacin pill. Just because my mom told me to.
Now I have hot flushes or is it rashes. I cant even differentiate.
Can something give you hot flushes actually be good for the body??!
Dr.D
Niacin accelerates metabolic rate, so yes, hot flushes are normal when taking doses above normal dietary levels.
You don't need to artificially boost niacin in normal circumstances, and I would suggest you not do so unless advised by a doctor.
Is your mum a doctor?
There are no side effects in general for healthy people, but if you have a heart condition it can cause potential problems.

I think the pill is giving me heart problem

I'm guessing nobody here is a doctor, so go see one I would say.

In case anyone is interested, I am fine. It only lasted for about 30 min. Thinking back its not bad. At least it forced me to get off my chair and went downstairs for some air. Taking appropriate break from work / or forum is also a good policy
