I think the market over saturated and the talent pool of writers on the scene is a bit lacking. Also to get big ad revenues my feeling is you have to compromise your journalistic integrity which I think is quite common in that industry worldwide. Plus more and more people get their news from the internet. I think the per capita amount of people that pay for newspapers here is low, actually I’d be curious what that stat would be. Plus advertising revenue per page prices are not great compared to costs imho
Anyway my thoughts. Could be wrong.
