What should I buy for my new pad?
Serious question really, because whilst I often have what it takes to save the world, I often forget little things, like a bucket, or a mop, or flyswat etc.
What do you forget to buy when you move in somewhere?
Special Kudos to those who post something useful. (Captain Obvious has no chance)

You usually move in a new place just before your birthday then?!?!?!

In our culture, before we'll bring things inside the house we bring in first salt, water, oil, grains of rice, sugar, coins and anything that has to do with fung shui, then all other things follow. This is belief.
When my family moved to our new house from country living to urban life, my parents assigned me to secure complete set of cleaning agents, carpenter things for small touch up - like if you want to hang something, adjust something, hammer here & there and air fresheners' as well.
I prepared some memorabilia from the old house to display in the living room, and unnecessary things should be sorted out to minimize baggage while moving in to your new house.

For alcohol drinkers - a corkscrew/ bottle opener. Your moving in party just won't be the same without one.

Real men use their teeth or the crack of their ass! hahahahahaha
What do you have to report from the 7's? Any good?
scot1870
My teeth have chips in them from too many parties without a bottle opener - hence why it was the first thing to come in to my mind. My arse will hopefully forever remain bottle-top free!
Only went to the 7s on Friday in the end, what a great day though, sun was out early on, beer was flowing freely and the women certainly made plenty of effort. Only let down was Scotland getting pumped by England though
Topic hijack over, it's all yours again!

Ian, Congrats on your new place!!! Didn't think the Burj was complete yet!!! :D
When I get home from the US, I would be glad to hook up with Scarlet and we could go on shopping spree and beautifully decorate the new abode! I am a decorator/designer and would love to help do the finishing touches.

I thought you used to own a bead store in Tulsa (wherever that is) and retired when your kids turned 50

You are confused. I would like to explain if and when you ever go out with the rest of the group.
I know you are not that old (comment from your post about where you have been), but I am not that old either (maybe in denial), and my children damned sure are not 50!!!!!
I did not own a bead store in Tulsa. I had several stores but not bead stores and I owned a manufacturing company having to do with the apparel/shoe industry. Have lots of design in my past which carries over into the decorating/decorator field. I have decorated several homes in Tulsa (recommended by various people), and have also done some work in various other places in states.

asorted sized pillows to throw on the sofa, the lounger, the floor. They just make comfort a little more within reach.
