Hi! Am looking at moving to Dubai from Australia in the near future (time for a sea-change) and have absolutely no idea how to go about it :D
Can anyone share some helpful hints or insights into the process? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated ... :)

I must say that you sound like the first clueless Australian.
Maybe you are from Austria (wait, they are pretty switched on too).
Anyway, start by reading the many posts on this forum particularly the stickies.

The first thing that you need to do is find a job.
What do you plan on doing for a living in Dubai?
Once you have done this the rest will pretty much fall into place.

Yes finding the job is your priority, and the best way to go about it is to do the search here in Dubai... I have recently met with a few recruitment agencies here in Dubai, all of them are saying that they are receiving 1500-2000 CVs daily, thus they will not even bother reviewing candidates who are NOT in the UAE.
