Hi.
I have been in Dubai for 5 months and have been living with a british family that has 2 maids.
They are both treated well, but I still get the feeling that they are prisoners due to not being able to do what they want.
I'm not saying that it is just this family, it is probably most people that have maids.
I was in the forces for 6 years and know what it feels like to be told what you can and cannot do and it feels wrong when you are a grown adult.
I've been told that if you give them (maids) an inch they will take a mile and because you are responsible for them you have to be carefull.
Is it correct that if you do have a maid/s that you are resposible for them 24/7.
What happens if they do something wrong when they are away from your home on there day off.
This is something that would turn me off hiring a live in maid.
I wouldn't like to be responsible for a grown adult even when they are out of the house on there day off.
