List of avatars rules

Andyba Since there are so many disputes regarding offending vs funny avatars. Here are some regulations - that can be discussed yet. List of avatars rules • No pornography that include cleavages/boobs, private parts. • No promoting violence I.e. blood, weapons or ‘bang bang boom’ • No promoting s.e.xual messages • No crude humor • No Religiously offensive stuff • No illegal activities • Also while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way. If you don't like any of these rules write it, and elaborate clearly why you don't agree with it. Cheers! 8)
Jeevan With respect i will take off my avatar :) the hitman will retire :) bushra21 I think this should be made as a sticky/announcement and be placed in general...since that is where most usuallly post sara_uk thanks Andy you are the man 8) Nick81 Bah... asc_26
Should be Sticky..mod will do it soon. :D Concord
Who decides? I know the "obvious" answer but....Well it ain't so obvious but I am "thick" Concord to follow up? What if? so someone posts and innapropriate/offensive/etc. avatar. What will happen. Will the person be "banned" in which case it will only apply to future posts. Will the avatar be modified? If so, to what? or... asc_26 He/she will be asked to change his/her avatar. Who? - this is for deliberation. yorky500
I think its complete bullsh1t. Why don't we just cut Avatar's and signatures all together to save on bandwidth.
The arguments that will come about because of this: i.e. "why his avatar more offensive than mine, and his is still showing?" "I find his/her AV offensive, I want it removed." etc, etc, etc. Mods will be spending more time asking people to remove AV/Sig's than monitoring Forums.
The forum will become a place of snitches and revenge from people who want to get back at someone.
Mine for one will stay until I choose to remove it/change it, ban me if you wish. :!:

kanelli If some people find it mentally too challenging to choose an avatar that doesn't break any of the rules listed above, then maybe we should just get rid of avatars and signatures completely. We wouldn't want to strain anyone's brains. Besides, it does save bandwidth. kanelli If you can't be respectful to the women on the forum who have complained about your long list of s.e.x.i.s.t avatars, then you should have your avatar removed by admin or be banned. If you have no respect for others, you shouldn't be here. Are naked women that important to you? Can't you just put a girlie calendar on your desk, or look at your girlfriend naked? pinoy1 Moderating members' avatars will be messy. Me thinks it's either DF does away with avatars completely or let it's members moderate themselves as usual. The latter would require common sense, sensitivity, and respect though which might prove to be a little scarce around here. lolz. kanelli Actually, there are hardly any offensive avatars or signatures around here that break the rules. Only a couple - namely Yorky's current girlie, and Devilish Angel's cleavage. I don't think that the moderators or admin would be spending all their time dealing with this issue, because the large majority of the avatars are fine. Besides, most respectful people would remove their own offending avatar if admin/mods sent them a quick PM and listed the rules. There will, however, be the odd person that gets upset at being asked to change his/her avatar. Very true that respect is sometimes quite scarce around here at times. zam Thy rules should be implemented!!! easternjewel
or assign someone* who can deal with this issue.
You know, a mod for avatars. 8) fayz
But if they were then yours would be illegal for bunny on bunny action in an unnatural way, how far is too far?

My two fils. First off I think Yorky is being singled out a bit here, there are avatars that are wearing less clothes then his current one, Raidah. There are women depicted in the throws of passion like Bonnita which is way more se.x.ual. (just two examples of many, no offence to either of you, and I don’t believe you should change yours)
Not to mention the whole Lesbian thread by two predominate female posters. Some of the pictures and text were way more intense then even the furthest reaches of Yorky’s imagination.
All of which have not received any flack, but then you get Nick who posts a little family guy skit or Yorky who originally didn’t have anything overly offensive imho this from my view appears to be a double standard.
If avatars should be controlled then just completely delete them and save the bandwidth. An avatar is a depiction of your character, whether it is a surgically enhanced women or a man with his head up is a$$ it is your statement to make.
The beauty of these forums and forums in general is that people have opinions and express them, if someone’s opinion offends you then make it known but to censor is not the correct approach.
My favourite Yorky avatar was the pig with the teeth. kanelli What Lesbian thread Fayz, and who were the posters? Don't hold back in posting the names here. I'm guessing that such a thread was in the private Fight Club, where admin fully accepts all kinds of bad language, flaming and inappropriate topics. That is not the same thing as avatars and signatures that can be seen on the public forum in general. I'm all for getting rid of Fight Club too if it means we don't have to have smutty avatars of women on here. Raidah's avatar is nothing like the avatars that Yorky has been posting. If any woman on this forum wants to post smutty pics of herself or some other woman to try to get attention, the same rules apply. These rules are not just for Yorky. Yorky is being singled out because he is craving attention. He is the only male forumer who has been consistently posting smutty pics for many months now. Please identify any other forumers who are posting lingerie, bikini, stripping pics etc. Feel free to forward that list to admin so they can also be PMed about the rules. I'm all for fair treatment. Nick's avatar was changed long ago. Also, I was not aware of the cartoon or the context, but Nick and others explained it. That issue was dealt with before and is a dead issue. Care to comment on Yorky's old signature cartoon of a passed out woman having her breast squeezed by a guy taking advantage of the situation? Doesn't that just sound hilarious. yorky500

By the way fays the thread you are talking about as K pointed out was in fight club, started by Bushra and yes I have posted there but I did not post any pictures so do not say the two who did that. It is obvious who you talking about, I even ask bushra to delete it she refused, it is her choice but again it is one thread in fight club where everything is acceptable, not like avatar you have to see it every time yorky post something. Andy posted this rules to get discussion and why you think it is not acceptable?? Not to finger point at this person or the other. This list was not put for yorky but the whole forum, if you do not like it say why? And lets discuss it but if we going to finger point this will not go no where, if you think someone breaking the rule just speak to Andy. MaaaD There are two ways to handle this issue that i am really getting sick of. Either keep this forum open and self moderating and give people the freedom to express themselves through an avatar. OR start implementing rules and regulations and so on so forth and then make sure they are enforced. And let me say if this starts with avatars slowly you will find this forum becoming more and more moderated and eventually boring. Obviously, I am in favor of the first solution. Let me stress what fayz mentioned about this being something your expressing yourself in, sort of something your trying to distinguish yourself from the rest with. This ofcourse will always bring clashes, discussions and so on so forth but thats what forums are for. sara_uk
trust me we are sick of it too, everytime we have to look over our shoulder to open DF.
thanks K i do not think i could have said it better, people try to listen only to themselves and think it is personal issue or some gain for the ladies. kanelli
Yorky, read your own signature and read this thread you started. &highlight=#132738 You want me comment on your avatars so you can get a laugh. Many of us ladies commented on your inappropriate avatars in order to have them removed. It actually succeeded until this thread came up, and suddenly you have decided that this is not a just a wind up, but a serious issue that you want to make a stand on.
I love it how men speak up about protecting other men's right to free speech - that is their right to post smutty pics of women.
Very nice that so many Muslims on this forum will get their knickers in a knot if you say something related to Islam in the Politics and Religion Forum, but yet they say nothing about this issue. Freedom of speech is not okay for the Pope or Danish cartoonists and journalists, but hey - naked women on Dubai Forums is acceptable, even if many women here have complained about it and this is supposed to be a Muslim country etc. Maybe you'd only speak up if someone posts pics of women flashing breasts outside of their abayaa?
I'm so done with this issue. Ladies, I tried my best. The men have spoken and they have decided that tits and ass are sacred forms of free speech. fayz
Agreed, I was offering my opinion, in no way did I mean to single out anyone, just make comments that to date, I find the source for the offending material seems to dictate the severity of the reaction by some forum members.
As for saying why I disagree, I believe I did offer my opinion.

This is my last post on this subject as really I don’t care either way. This subject has been talked about enough.
With regards, bushra21
yes my dear, you were completely innocent.
either way, i feel this whole set of rules for avatars is taking it a bit too far. thats all i wanted to say. Palkid7
Ouch, u started sounding like Dubai Police !!! looks dangerous !! but does nothing !!
