Hi,
I plan to seek work in Dubai in the secont half of next year once I have completed some project managment and database management courses.
In the meantime I have decided to learn Arabic to the best of my ability and was wondering if there was a particular local dialect peculiar to Dubai or would I be best learning Modern Standard Arabic?
I have seen Eastern Arabic advertised as part of the Pimsleur programme and would like to know if this is the same as Modern Standard Arabic ?
Many thanks in Advance
Tim

I shall follow your advise and stick with standard Arabic. Maybe after a few months I will be able to speak to my Morrocan barber here in the UK and ask him how I want my hair cutting! :D
mahmoodb
I strongly recommend you below Arabic learing materials. You will enjoy them:
They are entertaining also :D

Sorry,
A barber is a man who cuts hair and the man who cuts my hair is Morrocan. I wasn't refering to the Barbar people who live in Morroco.
