I'm hoping to go there for a long weekend next month but am wondering if I'll manage to get much seen in the time I have, or if I should 'save' the destination for when I have a bit more time.
I'd have to fly out on a Friday morning and return on the Monday (late morning). A loose itinerary would involve spending Friday night in Amman and heading off to Petra the following morning until Sunday afternoon, then heading back to Amman. Is this doable? I haven't bought a Lonely Planet yet to check if it's possible as the new edition isn't published until the beginning of May, but I'd like to get my plane tickets booked this weekend if possible.
