I am in the process of deciding whether to move to dubai from the UK andwould like to know if this is a good package or am i being taken for a ride?
Reloaction costs inc. shipping, flights, accomodation for 1 month.
Salary AED 40k per month + yearly bonus (probably 25% of annual salary)
Return Flights to the UK each year.
*No housing, school or car allowance.
I will be managing a team of 7 relationship managers for a medium sized organistation within the financial sector.

i'm currently in a similar situation, package is close to what you get, but i'm a single and wont need a 3 bedroom apartment. I'm moving to Dubai early April.
So what i've read so far the costs will be somehow like this..
1 bedroom apartmemt ~700-900 sqft around 8000-10000 aed a month + water, power etc.
2 bedroom ~ 900-1200 sqft around 10000-12000 aed a month + w, p etc
3 bedroom >1200sqft 12000-open end
rent the apartment as close as possible to your office location. e.g. if you work somewhere in the freezone and get an apartment in Deira, you'll be on the road for 2-3 hours a day in the worst case. Buy the Dubai Explorer, also available from here (Edition 11) &s=gateway&qid=1202545031&sr=8-1

It gives you a great overview on the city...
a standard sedan car will approx cost you 2000-2500aed a month; but of course depending on taste, the sky is the limit.
