I was looking to buy one today here in Australia, but not sure if i shoudl wait till i get to Dubai and get one Duty Free.
Can anyone tell me the approx cost of a 6-9gb unit over there?

I've noticed for some consumer electronics Dubai is very expensive.
I left my Xbox in Australia with a view to picking up one here. Dumb move, they're so overpriced here.

I saw a 30gb ipod for about $400AU
or there is the 80gb for $500.
but im really after something a lot smaller being about a 6gb. they are about $300 here. minus tax so about $270.
any idea what these would cost there in dubai?

Wow, that is cheap, my 30gig video cost me about 280 US dollars.

None of them. Take Samsung. But sure, if you reaaaaaaaaally need to
choose then take.. euhm.. nah sorry, I can't recommend none of them.
