well strictly speaking non-Muslims still eat, just not in public (or view of the public), a similar think happens in work canteens where non-Muslim staff still eat luch, but not in the presence of a Muslim. i think its more a matter of respect in helping a Muslin achieve his fast without having people eating and drinking all around them - out of site, out of mind
prehaps dk can knock together a marketing package for Ramadan, weight watcher holiday tours
Jeevan Hi Peeps, thought i should share this, dont know wether the complete information is authentic but is pretty good. cheers, J St.Lucifer Props to Jeevan.. Thanks for the info, mate. I would've ended up behind the bars this morning. Walked into a shop near my office on KhalidBin Walid street ,bought a redbull n a pack of Cigs n started smoking and drinking as usual. It flashed in my mind that its ramadan only after i finished my smoke, but to my luck no one noticed. A close shave. sara_uk
Ohh I should have been there so I can scream arrest him  St.Lucifer Now what have i done to u Sara ;) sara_uk I disagree with ban of food for none Muslims but does that make the holidays in Ramadan cheaper? St.Lucifer May you should ask this question in a new post if u are serious abt it. But as i see it, there'll not b a big change, and the whole purpose of coming for a vacation wouldnt b met. That is if u are intending to see the real seductive dubai. bushra21 very nice website, thanks j sara_uk
well that is the point, fasting is self control so if people can control themself then job is done.so how about muslims living in none Muslim country where they are surrounded by food all day long, did they get tempted?? I do not think so. There are things that some Islamic government apply which is not stated in religion and they are missing the point. St.Lucifer
Thats a valid point. Back home, most of my friends are Muslims, and all of them fast during ramadan and other spl days. Some of my friends even come to restaurants. i think that makes the fasting much more worthwhile, coz i believe it makes one stronger if one can resist temptation.

mema thanx j..very helpful fayz
Agreed, I’m from Canada and use to fast there, while everyone ate around me. It is about your self control, if people hide all temptations then it sort of defeats the purpose and in my humble opinion takes away from the fasting. Corcovado
very well said , exactly my thoughts .in islam they fast so they control their lusts and defeat their desires and feel with the poor and hungry people ..so hiding food from them and water has nothing to do with the real porpose of fasting zam Lets just give them respect ... anyway some of us here does benefits from ramadan also, shorten timings for example  KeithL Nice one Jeevs...thanks :)
