Jamal and ISH do not own FC - it belongs to everyone. Just because they act like total retards and tell everyone that they must do the same- it does not mean that the likes of you have to do so.
Posting bad language and being highly offensive to others must be down to the particular individuals conscience. I would doubt they and indeed you are like it in your normal life, so why do it here? arniegang
although i disagree for the reasons stated in my previous post Dave, i hear what you are saying and would say that we are in fact discussing this as a sensible option to consider. DaveDXB so maybe u need to review that sticky and SPECIFY the level / limit of abuse that is acceptable rather than redirect the reason of it being so bad to users on DF. Its a simple matter...There are no written guidlines to follow. The current guidlines state (there is no limit, do what u want) And no one here or anywhere in the world has the right to conclude their limit of abuse over others... The decision should be made by the Mods in whole....and written into the stick. What shall be written........shall be done. arniegang dave you are wrong - i think fight club was just fine until recently, but as in any real civilised society this forum cannot allow the level of degrading abuse and foul language that has been posted of late. Well, we can discuss the finer points of hypocrisy another time, but it's obvious I haven't been alone in my sentiment. I'm not trying to say we're better, or on another level, what I AM trying to say is lately the forum has just been infected with poor unadulterated drivel.
When I joined the forum, and I was a newbie, and I had all of 5 posts, what made me stick around and continue to use this place was the wealth of knowledge and the people all too ready to help.
Now what I see is chaff chaff chaff. Of course, X, if you think the conversation of the likes of Ish, Jamal, DaveDXB, 172 (or whatver his nick is) coupled with the various fly by nighters is fine, well then I'd have to stand corrected wouldn't I? XRW-147
ian, once upon a time (and from time to time) you were a 'fly by nighter' and I for one took that as ian being ian. This is the internet afterall, and trying to argue the finer points of posting is for lack of a better word, futile.
Now perhaps you might lean your ears more favourably towards the idea of having a 'closed' forum to weed out the lurkers? ^ian^
We're talking the same language, I was a newbie, and perhaps may have stayed or left as quickly as I signed up. However, what made me stay, contribute, and draw on the knowledge of the forum (a huge benefit I will forever be in debt to certain posters - some who don't post anymore) was the quality. Now, assuming the forum wants to continue to attract new members, and members that can give a lot to the forum (and I am not saying I am one of those members but they're out there... who's going to replace DBXSoul?), how is it going to do this when first impressions count? It looks like a forum for teenage kids.

Never, the lurkers and the newbies are the stars of tomorrow. The forum should be encouraging positive contribution and not be seen to be [color=red]implicitly [/color] endorsing se.xist, racist, protaganistic drivel.
