Importing an Air-Rifle from U.S


supra Hello Guys :) I just wanted to know if it is possible to import an airgun from United States through the website (pyramydair) as they could ship to UAE...My only concern is the Dubai Customs :) The Airgun is an 5.5 PCP Airforce Condor. Thanks :D

That's what they did with a high powered air pistol I arrived with a few years ago. Not sure what happens after that as I never bothered to go back to collect it. You can buy quite decent airguns here, with all the accessories, scopes, etc. There's a large shop in Deira near to City Centre.The Arabs do love a gun.... Well, I think that's his business, but he could start by shooting all the bastard cats that sleep and urinate on the roof of my soft top car...... I bought a cover for the roof, the tomcats now spray all over that instead, which is not as bad as it was except that I have to handle it every day to put it on and off :( Cats are wild animals that should not be classed as pets, nobody has any control over them, but their so called 'owners' say they love their little balls of fur. :evil: Dogs are kept under control or should be. I read a couple of weeks ago that there is a even law being introduced to stop them being in public without being on a lead. Harsh, but when you see the way that locals can treat dogs that they 'find' you would not want your dog to go missing. Scotsman
Fair point hump. I've had cats throughout my life till I moved here and while I love them, they are independent and I did get a bit fed up clearing up pooh from our garden in Scotty land, so goodness what the non cat owning neighbours thought! I got my lab here in Dubai and i do respect the laws and culture of locals and would never leave the dog pooh or allow my dog to run off leash and hound the locals. But I would do the same in my own country too. Responsibility is the key :D Speedhump Good man. I love labs, never had one though. My parents used to own a pet shop so I've been brought up an animal lover, but cats... I guess it's only the anti-social side of them I've a problem with. Is it cruel to clip their claws and keep them indoors, walking them in a harness if you really feel you have to? I don't know, but seems the only answer to me!

Chocs, it's a volunteer army. No one is forced to join. It's by choice. There was a time they travelled because there was big wealth to be gained colonizing countries, but those days are gone. Or are they? If the UK is such a perfect world, then why do so many Brits leave?
As for troops getting hit by friendly fire, unfortunately the US is at the frontline, put there by an administration that was manipulated by one person, and I don't mean GWB as he was merely a puppet.
Please don't try to paint a rosy picture about the UK. It has its crime. You have police killing innocent people, you have your fair share of murders, shootings, muggings, etc. The UK has it's underbelly as does every other country. I had the opportunity to live there, and I was a little impressed by the way they drink. By 11:00PM they are so drunk that they end up mixing partners. If troops were being medicated they would be removed from "active" duty and confined to lighter duty. No way would they be put on the front line and be allowed the use of a weapon. As for the US military being on the front line, well GWB at the urging of Dick Cheney put us there. The other countries that joined the US as a show of "support" are being shielded by the American Army, which the US administration probably agreed to, just so that other countries would appear to be part of the effort. I mean, you had some countries that sent what, 50 or 100 troops that were so far away from seeing any action that they were probably on a holiday.
I certainly don't defend what the US did to encourage people to join the military, but there must have been enough who wanted to otherwise they would have brought the draft back. Bora Bora

The US military spoon fed their crap to civilians to get them to join. The goverment spoon fed the American people lies to justify it's actions.
And yes, they can put 15% on light duty. Bases have to be run and other facilities have to be manned that are non-combatant. And those military men who are medicated, no secret that drugs exist and are obtainable. But to confine it to one group is unreal. SH, if you are going to point fingers, please use all the fingers on your hand. You have always been fair so I'm surprised at you being selective with your omission.
And I did not say "countless" British. I have heard "Do you know who I am" stated by several people, from different nationalities. You know as well as I do that there are people here who think they are way more important than they really are. For some reason way too many people develop this inflated self-important ego about themselves.
And I don't see where I said anything about taking "from the papers" or saying "I have seen it all".
I won't go into the military reference, brought into it by Chocs , but I will state, that Iraq should have never happened, but the US did not go into it alone and they may be the only military group to suffer so greatly from depression and needed to be medicated, but being on the front line is no picnic. I think any country that were put in the position of being on the front line would also suffer emotionally. I wasn't debating what MCL said, nor disregarding it. Yes, friendly fire cannot be denied.
And may I point out that the British were guilty of friendly fire. Maybe not to the same degree, but it does happen.
