Well, I'll probably drag my bum to Rugby training in the next couple of weeks, but I'm over the hill now so that will be more of a social thing.
I'd like something to occupy my time, but not wittle it away so-to-speak.
Maybe something non-sport that I can get involved in?

I used to play a bit of golf but its just too hot at the moment, that and I'm looking for something that I could do in my own time if necessary, i.e. in the evenings, but also on weekends.

Reminds me of a funny story from my college days. I spent one summer working at a pool selling tickets. At the end of each day, I would go to the office of the community center where the pool was, to give the secretary the money and receipts. She would count the money twice, once in English, once in her native Spanish - just to double check herself. And she never got the same amount. It used to drive me crazy!

Something to exercise your mind or your body, but you do it for enjoyment, not for work or education (unless you find education fun but that's a wobbly one).

My uncle owns a property west of Rockhampton near a little town called Blackwater. We used to go there on weekends and during the school holiday and do the cattle-raring thing.
I used to have a particular horse I liked riding called "Cobalt". Unfortunately, one week I turned up to find that Cobalt had been replaced by a Yamaha YZ-250. Trailbikes just aren't the same, although a lot of serious fun.
Sounds like straight out of McLeod's Daughters doesn't it? How stereotypical is this, my uncle also used to have 2 dogs - 1 was blind, the other was deaf and they used to help each other around the property.

Wow, skeet shooting, interesting!
I have a new friend who has practised Akido for many years. He says it is excellent. It is a martial art where you use the other person's momentum etc. to deflect their attacks. Unlike many other martial arts, there is no kicking and punching. You need to learn how to roll and dive so that you don't get any arms or collarbones broken etc., but other than that you don't have to be that physically fit. I'm going to try Akido at some point, because it seems useful and fun! Apparently women excel at Akido.

Aikido is a great martial art, but there are aggressive forms and less aggressive forms of the art as well. Steven Seagal is a Aikido expert and uses Aikido holds and throws in his movies (but please don't judge Aikido by the quality of SS's acting!)

Now that I find I have a chunk of free time on my hands... I need a hobby.
So as usual, I'm going to ask you guys, what are your hobbies, and what do you think would be a good hobby for me?
Over to you forumers!
Before when I was still in college I loved climbing mountains (for a hobby ok? , im not a monkey :P ) With that comes drinking and travelling of course.
In Japan visiting disco/bars, drinking, and travelling still.
But when I came to Dubai...OMG no mountains to climb, no good bars for me...what can I say my hobby now is DF :? walla!

Why not try to buy a bus card ...and try all the bus nos... from jumeira, to gold souk, to deira, satwa and others...
you'll see whole of dubai for only 100dhs a month and you'll have the experience of bearing the bad smell of all the passengers...what an adventure...
then when you tire yourself ..go to abra for only 50fils...and take some bread and feed the birds ...you get to see the creek and help to feed the birds...
basically i don;t have a car so i get to do this almost everyday..
but you can make it your hobby if you want... :D

Never mind dbx, he will get into fight club and that may make him happy (I doubt).
Anyways you should see the other one going on from this 69 character.
dbxsoul
ha-ha, i realised that he will have to send a nice long pm to a modarator to let him in...
been following the escapades of "69" - quiet funny actually; i see he and one liner joined at about the same time. maybe they are a siamese twin???
i think the mods should have a set protocol in place, three, well founded pm's regarding a persons attitude/ lanuage/ behaviour within 24 hour should result in barring - end of story
although i do enjoy the sparing part... was fun to follow...
perosnally i think "small man's syndrome"

Good theory, invisible so he/she thinks they are up with all and sundry on an equal plane.
But hey it's still going on in both forums.
