Taxies in Bahrain are crap and extremely expensive...
however, Bahrain in general reminds of Dubai 10 years ago... I love it when I go on Business trips to Bahrain, its like a quick vacation for me :lol:

I had a long weekend in Bahrain last month and really liked it. Managed to see pretty much anything of interest in 3 days, so wouldn't want to live there, but enjoyed my stay immensely.

And it takes only 45 minutes to drive the whole country! More suitable for family. But perhaps it has been changed a lot since I live there in 2004.
