Hi, I am planning to move to Dubai. My company is more or less paying the post tax HK salary in Dubai (and adjust for tax advantage). Plus some extras such as tickets home and kids education.
Does anyone know if Dubai is comparable in cost living to Hong Kong? Atleast not higher I hope :) But some of the posts on housing are getting me a little jittery.
Anyone on the forums who's moved from HK?

Also, was browsing through Cost of Living reports done by Mercer mid-last year. Ranks Hong Kong as #4 with an index of 116 and Dubai as # 25 with 88.

How much AED you would earn? Family/kids (school)? Preference? Lifestyle?
Never lived in HK, but visited once. Foods, clothings, and transportation (taxi) are more or less the same. Hotel is a lot more expensive in HK (about 1.5x for the same class), so I assume the apartment too.
