Rest of my limited Malay is only only Makan, Ikan, and Tandas :lol:
I found I can get by fairly well with these three words when I am there :)

Ikan = fish
Tandas = toilet
So you will always need to go the toilet right after eating the fish? :D

Actually I lived in Penang for a few months back in the early 90s just after the Gulf War. Picked up a bit of Hokkien there not much Malay.
Frequently travel to P. Redang for dive trips
