Oh yeah  Nick81 ^ and vice-verca You'll be surprised at what the consequences of a nice candlelight dinner can be when YOU, the guy, cooked for your girl. Even better than taking her out for dinner. Of course you'd better know how to cook... alexandra

When one does apprenticeship and/or works in restaurants to pay their way through uni you'd tend to pick up a ladle or two  alexandra not like that X...that's cheating i ment the real struggle and effort to cook it must be such a funny view...the kitchen all messed up, the food almost burned    Nick81 hey I am a real chef! How is that cheating if I learnt how to cook? :P
Unless of course it is not the food you are interested in eating  alexandra ok guys...i got it1 we have 2 chefs in here... what's in the menu for today?
Nick81 Just let me get back to Dubai, put on my chef hat and I'll cook whatever you want! Anything but Indian food. I've had that EVERY day for 2 weeks at the cement factory. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. And to think I was dumb enough to think I knew what "spicy" meant before I got here... constantine
Me and the ex used to fight about who's cooking...bcoz we both hated doing the dishes... ...so cooking got faster better more elaborate...while the dishes were a grouchy subject... alexandra
now guys no need for fight...u can both cook for me...i will wash the dishes (in case the food will be good)...fair exchange, dont u think cons? constantine
As long as the dishes are taken care of...i am a happy camper... ...bring on the battle of the iron chefs... 8) alexandra

I just got a confirmation that I am indeed going to the UK. And I am leaving on Sunday! I am not even back in Dubai and I already have to make plans for another trip... alexandra
when cons saied the "VANILLA" word he won u all
sorry!
wish u luck in the UK the_zooter Cons - can't you just get a dish washer?!?! Or better still, just go out for dinner. Then you neither have to cook the food, nor wash up afterwards!! alexandra
u missed the point here Z baby...
see, we were talking about the cooking as a strategy to win a girl's heart (even if her stomach will suffer  ) it's not supposed to be practical...as girls r always into complicated things!
ohhhhh and who cares about washing dishes after the meal----> time for dessert....
cant believe i just saied that :? Nick81   the_zooter
Hmmmm, dessert! Hot Chocolate Fudge Cake!! Yummy :P :P :P Sara1983 Anyone wanna learn how to make "Homous" its easy, I know how to make good Homous :D

** Here's the method & the ingredients, some stuff here I don't use (salt, baking soda, lemon)
**Quantities Ingredients
2 cups dry chick peas.
1/2 tsp. baking soda.
2 tsp. salt.
6 cloves garlic (or 10 complete bulbs for Colin Meagan).
3/4 cup lemon juice.
1/2 cup ground sesame (Tahini, found at specialist shops)
olive oil and/or wine vinegar to taste
seasoning to taste
**Method (Don't just sit there you sad websurfers, rattle those pots and pans! This is not a java routine!)
Wash chick peas thoroughly.
Soak the chick peas in the baking soda water for one full night. The water should cover the chick peas by an inch.
Strain and wash the chick peas the next morning.
Boil the chick peas until they are well done (soft enough to be mashed).
Blend them in the food processor or liquidiser.
Thoroughly mix the processed chick peas with the minced garlic, lemon juice and ground sesame.
If the homous is too thick at this stage, add a small amount of water and/or olive oil and/or wine vinegar.
If you want to be posh, garnish with a sprinkle of paprika or cayenne pepper. Liban Just get it in canned form and spend the time you would have wasted doing something more productive. Like coming on the DF :) Sara1983
hahaha :P I don't like the canned homous, I like the one I make :D Liban Congratulations! Sara1983
:P :book: :D cutielb Sarah your hommos recipe is great! Anyone has a sandwich specialty that he or she is good at? mine is labneh, green olives, thinly sliced tomatoes and a little drop of olive oil with three mint leaves. :D constantine
not bad...am tempted to try it out at home...sandwiches aye...hmmm...the bread is the most crucial bit in this equation for me personally...the best one i had so far was a pastrami wich in an authentic jewish deli in new york...the meat packing district...where harry met sally was shot...man was that a ton of meat...personally i would make salmon with fresh cream/bit o cheese...thin diced capsicum all bunched in and put in the sandwich toaster...till the bread outside is light brown...dang now i am hungry :? cutielb
Nice Constantine, well you mentioned 2 things which are my favs: the film and the salmon  bon appetit ma petit! constantine off the topic...cutielb...you work at DMC right...we are neighbours then...are you in media or advertizing... cheers me PS have PMed you
