I hate the gym - I mean hate with a passion, but I do it, because it's the only way to get in shape.
Any suggestions (serious) on ways to liven up a workout?
Bleakus
kickboxing, swimming, speedball (a form of paintball)

Walks.. long walks on a daily basis.. And some stretches and ground exercises, dancing for long hrs ..twice in a month.. may b after getting drunk.. but it really does the trick :) combine it with a good diet. I love walking/ running on beach n creak sides I never get bored.. occasional boredom can b met by gazin at the people pasing by and njoying the beauty of nature.
all this till u realize that its time u hit back the gym :)
Chocoholic
Yeah I like to swim, I used to compete in that.
See it sucks, when you used to be super fit from running and swimming etc, to feel crappy now.

I've observed a girl staying next door.. she doent do any of these crappy stuff. but still has this hr glass figure. I could deduce certain things from her way of keeping fit.. she goes out every night at 11:30 with someone in a 4 no plate vechicle.
Chocoholic
St L, your funny. But careful what you say, or people might think of you as a peeping Tom, watching your neightbours. Are you a curtain twitcher?
St.Lucifer
No.. never been a peeping tom.. well passing a curious glare occasionally through yoa next door neighbours open door is discounted.. :)
But, no not into it.. not a watcher either. :D

The ladies at the office have no other topic other than how to get fit, slim, follow this diet (dr. atkins, south beach diet), go to gym etc...etc They're not eating a proper meal geesh!
Obsess of getting fit is VANITY.

ASC, I don't think getting fit is vanity at all.
When I'm fit and toned, I feel so much better, I'm more in tune with what my body can and can't do, plus when the body it fit, the mind works better as well.
I've never been fat, so if I do have a couple of extra kilos, I notice the difference straight away.
Being fit is part of staying healthy and looking after yourself, and the only way to do that is to eat a balanced diet and take regular exercise, which in this climate and long working hours is very hard to do for alot of people.
Just because a person is slim, doesn't make them fit. I have to bulk up. For me to be at a better fitness level, I have to put on 5 kilos of muscle, no easy task.

we've had some kick boxers, karate, kungfu experts and mountaineering n dance ppl here... well.. no one is sayin anything..

Misery Called Life
dancing is a gr8 way to keep fit....There's Zuma Dancing, Bollywood dance classes, aerobics
Then there's cardio- Kickboxing(all women should do), elliptical trainers, jumping rope, rowing machines, stationary cycles...
To stay toned and build muscle etc. Just invest in a resistance band and then look up you tube for exercises.
Don't forget the outdoors swimming, beach runs, kayaking, cycling, mountain climbing, mountain biking.....
For the mind and also to improve flexibility try Yoga.
Apart from the outdoor activities, one can indulge in most of the above exercises indoors with minimal space and investment.
Ultimately it all boils down to you having fun.....
Nice thread Choco. Hope people can be constructive....
