Just accepted a positon in Dubai. We're an early 50's couple. Will relo in a few months. We're rock, blues, jazz, indie music fans who work hard and play harder. We also enjoy comedy, theater, and great restaurants. Any recommendations for fun? Seems like nightlife is geared to 20-30 somethings. We certainly don't mind that crowd. Just hate to show them up when we can out spend them, out drink them and out last them...lol 8)

you will be fine, dubai is great for all ages. No much in the way of cultural things though so you wont be going to the theatre i'm affraid.
Liken dubai to any cool UK city centre on a friday night but without the drunks, fights and those off their head, then add in warm evenings for 11 months of the year drinking at the numerous outdoor bars.
Restaurants are galore everywhere and cater for any taste you can think of and about half the price of the UK

Thanks for the recommendation. We'll be making a pre move visit in a couple weeks and will check it out. Since our kids moved out, we've caught our second wind, and don't plan to age quietly.
