It's Islamically unacceptable. Liban Being anywhere where alcohol and/or pork is served is against Islamic law. In essence nearly 99% of all restaurants in the west would fall under this category and a sizeable chunk in the middle east. So to follow Islam to the letter in the Western world would mean one going out very little unless its to the mosque. In Canada there is pork/alcohol in nearly all the restaurants, clubs, bars, supermarkets, malls (food-courts), park vendors, sidewalk vendors (select locations), metro convieniance stores, depanneurs (similar to a "dikkan" or 711 in the States), etc.... Also shopping in 90% of Canadian clothing stores would be against Islamic law because of skantily dressed pictures of women in clothing stores. Walking on 100% of Montreal streets in summer would be against Islamic law because of the half-naked women all over the place and outright displays of completly nakked women with vulgar poses plastered on Montreal's unlimited supply of strip clubs where in 50% of the time "anything goes".... But thats if you wanna follow Islam to the letter. Living in the west one has to temper things underfortunatly in order to go out of ones home without having all his/her senses shut off... I go to restaurants, clubs to dance, I go for long walks downtown on the main streets, I go shopping for clothes, etc... I don't drink spirits, eat pork, have my food touch pork, buy alchol for friends that do, gawk and the women on the street or excite myself looking at the porno pictures plastered all over the place... Clubs are also avoided not only because of the alcohol, but also because of the mixing of men and women who are there to dance with each other and the dancing in the presence of strangers, especially with tight or revealing attire. This is why I don't understand the concept of the existence of "Islamic" clubs that don't serve alcohol. The concept of a club is un-Islamic in the first place. sniper420
