Food, Teaching and Medication

Princess_CrankyPants Hi there, My husband and I are considering moving to Dubai in the next few months. I am sure I have heaps of questions, but the burning one is about food. I live in Melbourne and we shop weekly and the Queen Vic Markets, does Dubai have anywhere similar. I just hate supermarkets. But on the point, what are the supermarkets like? I hope that these quesions do not appear too stupid! I have not travelled much O/S and it is quite a scary prospect. Oh and what is the public transport like? Ie I may have to catch public transport to the souk? I would like to live in the City in an apartment(DH work will be close to the coast I think - he works in construction, building on one of those new islands) but he would prefer Villa type accomadation. Ideally I would like a big, bright 2 bed apartment close enough to a market/ CBD to be able to walk there. Nothing too fancy. Just clean, functionaly, air-conditioned and liveable. Am I dreaming? Oh and also I am TOEFL trained (teaching English as a second language) but am not a trained teacher (no under-grad degree) is it possible to find part time work in this area? Questions Questions. Thank you so much PS Last one, prescrition medication, I read t that one can only take 3 months worth into Dubai, is the cost of prescription medication high?
