Had my first taxi ride driven by a female driver in Dubai this morning.
Just realized that of all the thousands of cab rides i've taken in many places this is only the second time I have been in a taxi driven by a woman - the other was in Paris (and only once).
Good progress.

Good progress indeed, I was under the (possible misguided) impression that they were only supposed to pick female passengers.

I think 'Pink' cabs are only for ladies but the normal cabs, with lady drivers, (usually from the airport) are not exclusively for women.

Did you get into a ladies-only cab?

Good Progress. :D
I had my first ride with lady taxi driver here (not the pink cab) and it's an awesome ride. I wanna see more lady cab drivers and hopefully they won't be abused by mischievous passengers.

I would hope that most people know that I am joking.
I've actually been in a few taxis (here in the UK and elsewhere in Europe) driven by women - so its not that unusual. I'm very surprised there are female taxi drivers in Dubai though.

Benefits of female taxi drivers:
They're easier on the eyes
They don't smell
They don't check you out in the rear view mirror
They have clean cabs
They're very polite and friendly
They drive very well
If someone tries to side swipe them they know how to kick a$$

I knew you was joking, however some of my daughters / sisters may not.
Female Taxi Drivers are quite a new thing here maybe 12 months or so.

Ummm have you seen the female cabbies here?? I'm not sure I'd go that far.
On a serious note though there were tons of robberies and even a couple cab drivers that were killed over the last little while, it is a dangerous job. I'd like to see cab drivers get screens for protection, dubai isn't as safe as the newspapers make it out to be.

I think it has to do with anatomy more than anything. It would be a real mess.
