Fasting? Who's doing it.

gtmash I don't think half the people here are non-Muslims. Maybe in the social circles you hang in.
raidah fasting is good if done in a proper and smart way. meaning religion or not, the way you fast should be adjusted to what ur body needs. some ppl "fast" every day of their life, simply because they are used to eating once per day. others cannot do that. i dont understand in depth the reasons because i was not raised to experience them, but being without water all day and doing hard work for ex, cant imagine how would that purify anybody or make them think of the spiritual aspect of their life. another thing, this is a muslim country with muslim government. but half of the ppl living here, or maybe even more are not muslims. so while fully respecting local laws, religion, traditions, etc., shouldnt there be some sign of good will and consideration towards those who have a different kind of life? i mean, rule or not rule, i would not eat and feel good about doing it in front of smbody who is fasting purely out of respect. but when everything is closed, plus from most places u cant even order then its like forcing everybody to not only respect but obey. anyways, ramadan kareem to those who celebrate the month :) rudeboy lol muslims dont fast and its ok lol WHO said its OK. if u r a muslim U should FAST. i dont wanna sound like an extremist or something but if u r not a muslim you can still fast. Fast and see how it feels like to have no or little amount of food in your tummy. Think about those kids in africa who dont eat that much. So i m gonna be fasting because am a musi and i ll be fasting for one of those lil kids who dont get that much to eat ALL year long. And ill be grateful to god for giving me the money to feed myself in the morning, afternoon and in the evening. so thats y i m fasting. so if u r not a muslim and see how it feels to be in the shoes of one of those lil kids i suggest u fast. try fasting for 3 hours, then 4 hours and so on. BabyDoll And no s-e-x during Ramadan, I was told . Concord Ok who's fasting for Ramadan? In solidarity I did it last Ramadan but only for 2 weeks as I went to the land of the infidels for the last 2 weeks. I plan on doing it again - but will only be in Dubai for the last 2 weeks. I thought I was going to be starving but thirst was the killer! Ramadan Kareem. p.s. I know many muslims who do not fast (and they are still ok). Bleakus i am, i do it anyways every year good for the soul :D gtmash  fayz I fast. MAC I eat fast. Galactico

gives your stomach a break sometime which is good burton Regarding fasting, here's a question: For those of you who do actually fast, do you find that you lose weight during Ramadan, or put more on? Just that 'fasters' always seem to be divided into two camps; those who look forward to Ramadan and can't wait to cut down on their food, and those who dread the season because they know what just what iftar - every night - in Dubai can mean! Galactico
Im sure someone can give you the times if you wanna fast... dave101 i too have a question for the muslims on the forum. when you fast, does that mean you eat nothing, not a single thing for the entire time? because religion aside, that aint normal! Galactico
You eat nothing the whole time until its sunset.
sage & onion
To clarify for those who are unsure you cannot Eat , Drink or Smoke anything from Sunrise to Sunset. MaaaD
Choco the way Ramadan is done in our consumerist society you are right its bad for the body when you fast the whole day and then at 7pm eat 3 meals worth of food ... but the right way to be done is to have a light meal at sunset (soup, dates, water .. etc) and then have another meal a few hours later .. and then eat again before sun rise .. this way you still get 3 meals a day and its not bad for your body. MaaaD oh and i am fasting except for the part of the month i will be in infidel land :) HP There is the difference between Fasting and hunger strike . Fasting teaches us how to be the perfect person in the all matter of daily activities. It is training period for one month and we are expected to follow the tradition in following 11 months.
If we do not bring positive changes in life then it is not FAST but Hunger strike.
some people cancel their dates in the month of Ramdan and then start their days again at the end of Ramdan , thats not the Fasting
Well i hardly FAST mostly its Hunger strike  HP
u dont have kids to feed so take it easy :P HP [quote="Concord"]Ok who's fasting for Ramadan?
