Etisalat ISP has very poor routing and connectivity

compevo I am very surprised that Dubai does not have a better ISP.
I also notice the price is about $150 CAD per month for a 4mbit connection.
I know Dubai could do better, they could get direct peering through Canada, Europe and Asia to improve speeds. They should invest in fibre routes to the closest internet hubs in the region and offer 1gbit to the home. I know Dubai has the ability and potential to this and this will truly make them a world marvel and player in the telecom industry by bringing the fastest broadband speeds in the world home.
In comparison I can reach anywhere in Europe in less than 100 MS and most places in Asia in less than 260 ms (sometimes even 160 ms).
Here a traceroute from one of the datacenters with premium tier-1 bandwidth:
yasrkasem hi can u plz send to me the source and destination IP add. Etisalat have peering with europ as well with US and Canada, the problem may that your ISP is not peering with Etisalat. send the data to me and i will c what i can do. cheers compevo Thanks yasrkasem, do you work for Etisalat? I've tried a traceroute from 4 different ISPs in Canada, actually 5 and most traceroutes were the same, and even ones that took routes through Hong Kong or Europe still had at least 300 ms latency :( Some ISPs tested: Bell/Group Telecom, Telus, Tata/Teleglobe, Internap yasrkasem hi again, well, you can send a mail to etisalat copy of fresh traceroute and source and destination IP will be very helpfull just it may take time for investigation. and yes i do work for Etisalat. cheers nrgbi Can't send to noc. Got following error: Your message cannot be delivered to the following recipients: Recipient address: jalak<>emixDOTnetDOTae Original address: noc<>emixDOTnetDOTae Reason: Over quota yasrkasem hi, this is a group os receiption mail and one of the boxs is full this is why the error message, but the original message should be received.
