How many of you managed to register for Emirates ID? I am yet to do it...has it been now extended until end of 2010 ?

It is done so they can racially profile you as soon as they see you, without having to browse through your licence. The only bits of info printed on it are your name and nationality. I doubt cop cars will carry equipment to scan those cards anytime in the near future.

My wife got hers without any trouble, I'm still waiting for my Company to issue some paperwork and I think they are waiting until the CC bottoms out.
