arniegang
Totally agree Maaad - apparently the service is crap.
175bpm - I travel to Dubai most months, thats why i am in touch with the current air fares. The current prices are around £270 direct with Brunai and £280 with BA
I use these people they are extremely good and by far the best deal

Emirates will never reduce their prices while people continue to fully book their flights. The service is very good although it has gone down hill a little lately.
Plus they don't feel they need to compete whilst they still have a monopoly on certain routes. Their only problem is not enough crew at the moment.
Qatar Airways are also excellent.

i' hope to fly to glasgow on the 14march and leave dubai for good if anyone finds a good flight mucho cheapness let me know please. :D

I've always loved Emirates, but as Choco said I think they've started to go down hill a bit. The last 4 flights I’ve taken have all been delayed a minimum of an hour which gets frustrating, especially sitting on a runway for 98mins when try to fly 40 mins to Qatar.
I think the staff and pilots are all great but just overworked and now bitter because of it, which is starting to become more evident in customer facing staff.
I guess the airline is growing faster than it can handle and they have become a victim of their own success.

Well put it this way, they're graduating about 120 crew A WEEK!!!!! Not enough polits to go round either. It's growing way too fast and the problem is getting worse.

Choc mentioned Quatar Airways.
Bloody brill i say and only a 40 minute penalty stopover at Doha.
Fares are not cheap at them moment, when they reduce prices i will post.
It seems they all take turns at doing cheap fares.
Basically, wait till Virgin get their teeth into Dubai. By the end of the summer, i think with more competition, fares will be cheaper than the last few years.

They've (Emirates Airlines) got a huge-ass fleet of A330's, and the largest fleet of A340-500's, which was the longest ranging aircraft in the world until the 777-200LR came out in February.

I hope they don't rush to graduate more per week! Safety First!

When you take on most of the Emirates crew that left cause they got sick of service what else can you expect?

Not as rushed as they would have liked Conno. As part of their growing recruitment drive they're also initiating dedicated flight academies in certain countries to compliment the existing expatriatizing programs they have now.

I dont think thats true, i am pretty sure there is an agreement between the two airlines not to accept applications from crew members working in the other airline.

Nope, a lot of my friends (ex Emirates) have joined Etihad. Better pay, less stringent, better schedules and longer lay over rest periods - I don't blame them for their choice.

So funny how AD and DBX always knock each other...

Interesting, it must be that Etihad cant go to Emirates then. Because my friend in Etihad wants to join Emirates but said she cant because there is an agreement of some sort. Ofcourse it could also just be a rumor so they wouldnt even consider it :)

I think everybody should fly Ariana....
I hear their ultra-modern 727s have 1/2 of the seat rows missing because they claim to be broken or they fell off, I personally think its a ploy to give us passangers more leg room.
Liban
In case you all start fighting amongst yourselves to find a travel agent to fly with the great Ariana...
Calm down, here is the site / :)

Are you looking to give Ariana some sort of official endorsement by the DFM??

I flew with Emirate once for the 1st and last time from London . It was a HUGE disappointment , even thinking about it make me feel achy... I guess I fell in the trap of 'Oh they're the best in the world blalala' . No bloody way : it was the worst service I can remember. This is just one of them : I had an 18mts baby with me who was sick , mmm not good in the middle of the night , sitting on my lap... I asked for a blanket guess what the answer was : sorry mate but we don't have extra blankets !! live with it basically. Also it was just to messy for my standards and I know my standards are not the highest  or did I catch them on a bad 'trip' any way the return flight wasn't any better. I gave them a chance ...

I usually fly to the UAE in BA premium economy as a) work is paying, and b) i'm 6'2" and long in the legs.. normal economy is really cramped for me on a long-haul flight. My top tip.. fly into/from Abu Dhabi not Dubai. The Dubai BA routes are always full up, but the Abu Dhabi one's are always half empty. As a result you get better service from the less stressed cabin crew and 8/10 trips I make (being a regular flyer with a BA card and as long as i'm dressed presentably) i'm bumped to Business Class as there's plenty of space available. I usually have business to deal with in Abu Dhabi and Dubai so I choose to start/end the trip there. The taxi ride between them doesn't take that long as long as you're not in a major hurry.
