I'm pretty sure this is one of those Hoax emails that disgruntled people create and send out which then get re-forwarded 100's of times eventually ending up in my inbox but since some of you are familiar with the airline I thought I’d see if you had comments.

What a ridiculous story. Cabin crew are stationed all over the aircraft and most hang out at the rear of the plane during night flights, so I doubt very much they'd not see and not report something like this going on. To say the crew would turn a blind eye is a complete insult, as I have many friends who're crew and I have never, ever heard anything like this.
^ian^
It is of course, a lot of hokum.
Corcovado
big fat lie ... i mean no way No one will notice whats going on  its a plane for god sake
yorky500
Well yes, i can understand how someone can miss two people who want to join the "mile high club" but 5 people?
Defo a load of BS.

It would have been better if the writer of that crap changed the rape location to the place below the passenger cabin which is used for baggage storage.

I have some friends who work for the airline and had difficulty believing this story as well, who ever wrote it must be really pissed at something.

Load of Cr@p, but as unbelievable as it sounds I'm sure that many people would believe it and it will have some kind of impact on Emirates sales if enough people read it.. :?

dbxsoul
yep, sounds like a load of crap....
i'd be more worried if i read that they had done a survey and emirates was voted to have the best inflight meals
was on a flight 2 weeks back, and before take one of the passengers who had obvioulsy had about 20 drinks to many was arguing with the poor woman who had been allocated the seat next to him - and anyone who wanted to hear his take of woe. the cabin crew were pretty good in calming the situation and keeping them appart. it was like cheap inflight entertainment... eventually 2 cops arrived and frog marched him off the plane along with all his luggage

The email is surely untrue, but a journalist friend of mine working for GN checked it out and sent an email to the PR dept of EK. They sent her a very angry email with big words like LAW SUIT and DEFAMATORY.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DUBAI, U.A.E., 22nd August 2006 – Emirates is ramping up the excitement for the launch of its services to Beijing with a range of special offers, some exclusively for passengers based in the UAE.
Emirates’ passengers based across its network travelling to the city in First Class are entitled to two nights’ and Business Class passengers to one night’s complimentary stay at the luxurious Shangri-La Hotel in Beijing. Both deals offer passengers a deluxe room, on a single or double occupancy basis, and are valid from 1st September to 30th November this year.
Economy Class passengers in the UAE can look forward to an exceptional introductory fare of AED 1,800 for a Dubai-Beijing round trip, exclusive of taxes, valid for travel until 30th September. This special fare is available through travel agents, and Emirates’ website, call centres, and travel hubs in the UAE.
And there is more – UAE-based passengers who book their Dubai-Beijing tickets online in any class – Economy, Business or First Class – could be one of four lucky ones to win back the entire value of their ticket. Winners will be picked at weekly raffle draws on 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th September. All passengers who book online and pay by 30th September qualify directly for the draw.
Skywards, the frequent flyer programme for Emirates and SriLankan, have announced special Cash-plus-Miles offers. Members can travel from Dubai to Beijing in Economy Class by redeeming 7,000 Miles and paying AED 1,499; Business Class with 8,000 Miles and AED 4,999; and First Class for 11,000 Miles and AED 7,999.
Richard Vaughan, Senior Vice President East Asia and Australasia Commercial Operations said: “Beijing is destined to play a crucial role on Emirates’ strategic route map. We are delighted to launch services to the city, and we want our passengers to share in our excitement with this range of splendid deals.
He added: “With the launch of our operations to Beijing, travellers to the city can now experience one of the finest inflight services in the skies, and combined with these great offers, an affordable holiday to explore the mystique of the Orient, the Forbidden City, the Great Wall and the Summer Palace of the emperors. All in all, Emirates’ passengers can comfortably explore the myriad business opportunities in Beijing, or take a fabulous break, especially if they have been working hard all summer!”

Really?
I think its a good airline.

I also think it is a reasonably good airline, mainly because the equipment is new / fairly new and well maintained.
The in-flight service however is not as good as it used to be, too many inexperienced staff on board.
And don't you love the announcement from some hostess who can barely speak English;
Languages spoken on board;
English,
Korean,
Thai
Hindu
Philipino
Africans
French
etc.

I am referring mainly to their UK flights. In comparison to Virgin Atlantic (and BA at rare times), Emirates is pi55.

what do u mean barely speak english.......i have been via Emirates airlines to atleast 5 places and it was pretty god. If she doesnt have a british accent doesnt mean she is doesnt know the language

The trouble is they're recruiting and training so many crew at once, it's hard for them to keep up.
Anyway I just don't go to the UK anymore, so no worries there. Everywhere else I've been it's very good.

Just giving my experience, and over the past 24months or so I have found that the level of service on the flight is lower and I can also reconfirm that the level of spoken English is not so good. This has nothing to do with being British or not.

If you want a less in PI55 try Qantas.

man this email sounds just as ridicilous as the movie "snakes on a plane" .. I am a gold frequent flyer with emirates and make an effort to fly them on routes wherever available. And the food they have on the Dubai-New York flight has to be the best aeroplane food i have ever had (i rarely eat on planes though since its generally gross but on NY flight i am talking veal steak, grilled shrimp , etc .. )
JeepDude
Original post is a very interesting fiction. I suppose the author of that story left out the part which says those men were armed and dangerous...
Oh, that would be a terrorist-on-board story... stretched a bit, you will have a headline "4 armed terrorist on board a plane, gang rape a young lady and completely forgotten about blowing up the plane"
You guys should read this book, Air Babylon, which is supposed to based on real-life incidents, tales. Very funny.
beachbelle
This is clearly an 'act of revenge'. It could be anyone who's had an argument/ clash and wants to get back at them, whether it's one of their current or ex-employee or a very unhappy passenger. There is no way this can be true, it is just well-written by a very angry person!
Evil is around, and i agree that this can't really influence emirates, they're far too big and well-known. Dont think anyone with a brain would believe this. As far as their service is concerned, economy class can compare to first-class of other lower grade airlines.
