Eid on Monday

kanelli Geez, I guess our Muslim friends here in Malaysia are in for a long Ramadan then  (See Malaysia thread and topic of Indonesian jungle fires causing severe haze in this region.)
mema 23 oct...... so do we get sun and sat off  sage & onion
Eid has yet to be announced and can still be Sun22 / Mon23 or Mon23 / Tues24 depending on the sighting of the moon. mema its there in emaratalyoum news paper According to Emirates Astronomical society its impossible to sight the moon on that day.. ^ian^ I had always thought we were going to get those days off. Whilst it does depend on the sighting of the moon, it would take some astrophysical phenomenon to change where the moon is going to be. mema i'v heard rumors we r gonna get thoes two days off..i hope :colors: sage & onion
Or a piece of dirt in someones eye  yorky500 Or depending on how much Booze these guys have consumed in their trek into the desert to sight the moon.  I am hoping its Sun/Mon zam it will be on Sunday, I can feel it  sage & onion

Happens every year. They send someone up in a hot-air balloon to see. sage & onion
The month of Ramadan can only be 29 or 30 days, so if it is not declared at the end of the 29th day then the end of the 30th day is automatically Eid. ^ian^ Confirmed here, we're getting Sunday to Tuesday off. Going to enjoy the break :-) constantine sunday and monday...gonna have to work on sat though...shame  isabela
Is that only for your company or for all private firms?
I just ask my boss who's in Jordan a while ago when will be our Eid break and he said , we will wait for announcement for private companies in the newspaper... :? ^ian^
I can only pass on what has been announced for us. sage & onion
It is the same every year, I have even gone to work in Saudi Arabia when it was a holiday
