Dubai's Growth


Liban Hi All, Curious as to whether this exponential growth in Dubai (and the UAE in general) is bound to either come to a crashing end or at least a levelling off... Dubai, for one, has been growing nonstop since Gulf War 1 and I don't understand how this growth is being fueled. Yes its a tax free haven and all, but the jobs don't pay all that much compared to Canada in general, you cannot own or rent reasonably priced property, the weather in summer is atrocious, expats are second class citizens when it comes down to civic matters, etc... Any insights please? Lets try and be civil in our responses my friends.... :D
Liban Also, working conditions seem much more strict than Canada in terms of relaxed atmosphere over in Dubai and the UAE and GCC in general... krush this place is booming. my colleague told me to come here while it's still growing. almost daily, i wonder when the bubble will burst. it's bound to happen because the growth rate of this place is incredible - nothing can stand for long when built so quickly. so, tax is a maybe then? interesting - then i'd rather go back to rsa and pay taxes there, live with the so-so weather but at least know that i'm living in a real place. i'm not dissing dubai - i'm just thankful i won't be here for more than a couple of years. laila k m why where u going? sniper420

anyway dubai might not have taxes yes but if you guys failed to notice taht the prices here in dubai are insanely expensive !!!!! lets take the taxis for instance 10 years ago going to burdubai to karama would only cost you 3 dh now its 11 dhs !!!!! and theres a new rule that the starting meter would be 5dhs !!!!!!!!!! and the flat's rents are fuckin doubled !!!!!! paid parking everywhere !!!! exit rule for visit visa and visa transfer
i heard that kish airlines are dubai owned airline,.. here in dubai you cant move without spending loads of cash !!!!!!! it may be tax free but they are making whole lot a money with their rules, taxis, etc. so technically we really are paying tax !!! so if they put some income tax shit on then fuck whats the point on working out of our lands when we are just gonna dis all our cash here in a country where you cant even own anything !!!!!! The low income blueberries!!!!!! chap1979 TO UNDERSTAND THE GROWTH OF DUBAI, YOU NEED TO APPRECIATE THE VISION OF DUBAI'S RULER. THEY HAVE PLANNED AT LEAST NEXT 20 YEARS. REAL ESTATE, MEDIA, IT, FINANCE,...... EVERYTHING PLANNED AND CONTROLLED. PROBABLY ONE OF THE SAFEST AND CRIME FREE PLACE ON EARTH. TAX FREE AND EASE IN FINANCIAL TRANSACTIONS FUELS GROWTH.
