Dubai Travel Brochures

barastisundowner Article in the UK's biggest selling daily today about the UK Advertising Standards Authority, taking action against firms advertising hotels in Dubai. The pictures show lovely hotels surrounded by beach, water and palm trees, when in reality they are surrounded by construction sites.
arniegang Its the Daily Mail. This was also the subject to a consumer programme on BBC last summer. I dont know what all the fuss is about, in all the brochures and online they are all giving warnings about construction work etc. However on the otherside of the coin, because of the hotel beds shortage generally, places like the Sheraton , Hilton etc are taking the piss charging top dollar for their rooms. Some of their prices are the same as the JBH, so they should expect some flack really. If they marked down the rooms, giving a good discount nobody would complain. Jupiter ppl abroad think that every place is like palm city and everybody lives in palace-like places...
