Dubai areas

iva i'm sorry if similar topic already exists, but i couldn't find it. can you please tell me something about Dubai areas? which one do you like the most? where do you live? what do you think about Greens, Springs, Jumeirah Village, Marina etc.? specifications of each. thanks a lot!
GAB Hi, if you are looking at a place to live you must consider where you work and/or where your kids go to school. Dubai traffic can be horrendous and a 10 minute car ride can become 45 minutes depending on the time of day or current event ie Ramadan, Gitex etc. Dubai is a nice place to live and most areas have easy access to SZR, esp. since you have mentioned places in areas the same side of the creek. Secondly you need to consider budget-accom. is expensive. You need to provide more info. ajb Gab whats a Gitex? mraph33
Camel mating season ajb so how does that effect the traffic? or is SZR a popular camel mating location   MaaaD
Oh yah nothing better than a camel hump in the middle of a 8 lane highway .. the adrenaline rush is just .. amazing MaaaD damn i need to stop posting my thoughts !!! sharewadi
One of the Dubai Traffic Jam Festivals :). In October I think - computer stuff. GAB
That was funny!!  During Gitex or whatever it is called-like a big expo of computer/tech stuff all the taxis were diverted to there last year-you couldn't ring one or hail one. I waited on Oud Metha Road for ages, walked to Lamcy Plaza and then stood in a queue for around 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours for a taxi I shared with some tourists, plus the traffic home was a nightmare.
Sharewadi is completely right-these sort of events are better described as
Dubai Traffic Jam Festivals....so true.
