My wife and myself are in our mid 40s, kids 'grown up', and are seriously looking at moving to Dubai.
I would be looking for a senior role in publishing, but my real question is, do you think that my age would work against me, or would my (25 years)experience be valued?

Retirement age here is 60 by law. So no problem.

Thanks, that's useful to know.
I was more concerned about the attitude of employers. Do they tend to prefer to employ younger single staff, or maybe people with young families?
Is it common for middle aged couples such as ourselves to move to Dubai?

Don't think about your age..... it's a state of mind!!
You will have a great time in Dubai..... get on a plane and ENJOY!!

I am sure the employers would appreciate your experience

Reputable/international/big companies may give you better chance, especially if you have specific skills/experience (e.g. managerial level).
Smaller ones tend to hire as cheap as they can get. And often force incapable resources up (just because they are friends, relatives, long-time workers).

I would think your 25 years of experience would be a major plus point, but then at my age I am slightly biased
