No need to ship from the US go to the Aweer car complex in dubai, the dodge challenger has been available for around 6 months now. Haven't been there for a while now I'm sure they must already have the new camaro aswell by now.
To answer your other questions, no its not illeagal to import cars. Plus you just need to pay a VCC TAX ( dont ask me what it means ) and instantly your car becomes GCC specs. There is no problem running US cars here in the UAE at all don't bother with GCC and non GCC specs its a load of crap. Only diffrence your speedo will be in miles and probally have clear or red indicators

DirectAutoExport
We have plenty of New 2009 Dodge Challengers and Chevy Camaros for export from the USA. We can help with the logistics as well. You must register to see all vehicles. DirectAutoExportcom Yes it is legal to import to the UAE and legal to export from the USA. The manufacturers do not like our practices because exporting interferes with the the manufactures protecting higher prices in certain regions.
