some women build their lives around them. for them kids r the biggest mission, accomplishment, joy, etc.
and some don t want to have them. it could be for various reasons, career, vanity or just the fact that since they never feel that maternal instinct, they don t give in to the expectations of the family or society.
im curious about what both the guys and girls of this forum think of these women.

I think that some women feel the pressure to have children because they are married and "everyone else is doing it." What is most important is that the couple or mother is ready to live up to the responsibilities of having a child. I hate when I see mothers having kids and not handling them properly because they weren't ready. (I am talking about planned children..not unplanned, and we won't get into abortion here) I think when a couple is ready to have a child they will know it. It is the natural instincts that come through. No need to rush just to suit everyone else! Better to delay it a few years and raise them well than rush into it and be completely clueless. That is my take. In terms of career I think it depends on the woman. Some women never get that mother instinct and are focused on their career so much that a child doesn't fit into the scene. In that case I think it is better not to have a child if you are not going to be there to raise it.

Have you read Sport Extra, Gulf News, June 9 2006? (Page 70) I am so proud of her!
It takes extra effort. Plus I am working full time, doing MBA, focusing on career, and volunteering. You can do it too! :)

A wee bit Hiya!! My philosophy is you don't miss what you don't have. After having kids I would never go back to not having kids, but you have no idea how having children changes your life-children bring life into a whole new perspective-nothing is more important nor more precious than your own children.

Thank you Sniper420! Sorry, there is no link (no web availible). As for Ukrainian friend, I don't know, her husband does not allow any "russian female" communicate her. Local community for woman rights is trying to help her. That is all I know.

If you have children you will understand and if you are married like wise. Some people put their spouses first in a marriage and kids second. I wouldn't have kids without my husband and he knows how much I love him-not only that he is my best friend-we adore our children and their needs always come before ours. Having children and caring for them should be selfless not self-indulgent.

Kids are a big responsibility, they are not like pets !! They are a lifetime part-time job!! unlike a pet that u can abandon or give it away anytime !!

*chuckle*
anyway - i don't ever plan on having kids. my maternal instincts only seem to work when there is fur and purring involved. i may adopt an older kid one day but babies - no . not ever.

I personally wish more women would opt out of motherhood. I like the trends that many Japanese and German women are following: To live their lives at their fullest without letting children or the pressure of having them get in the way.
