Hello, I am a 24 year old New Zealander enquiring about carpentry opportunities in Dubai. I have a National Certificate in Carpentry, and a National Certificate in Carpentry Advanced-Which is equal to a diplomicy.
I am Just after a general idea of available positions and packages,

hey sorry to burst your bubble, but most carpentry jobs are filled by labor from India, Pakistan, Nepal etc .. so you will find the pay is very low (~$300 per month) and probably not anything close to what you have going on back in NZ.
However you probably have a better chance getting a higher paying job if you spin off your skill as "interior designer" rather than carpenter ...

My husband got work and he is a carpenter. He applied through seek, and they recruited him to work on an international development.
Don't give up. Just keep applying. You'll get work. There is a trade shortage worldwide. And hubby gets AED 19,000.
