The business idea was to provide a solution for increased calling to abroad destinations, without the need for a physical calling card, with lower prices as there are fewer costs involved.
has been running for nearly 2 years. The firtst target market was ethnic groups residing in the UK mainly asian origin. After more market research, the next route the company is headed is towards organisations and firms that have affiliations abroad (mainly USA, Australia, (West) Europe) and the Gulf Region.
Using oftel statistics its evident that there is a growing market for international calling:
Use of pre-paid cards has increased to 8% of GB adults from 3%. (3.7 million users).
£10 per month on calls using pre-paid cards.
It's only natural that there is a move from pysical cards to digital. This is where comes in.
It would be gratfully appreciated if someone with more business knowledge can direct me towards the type of companies I should target, or if I should keep to a domestic market?
The service differs from landline companies as theres no minimum pre-payment. To be eligable to benefit from the cheaper international rates a small business is going to have to upgrade to aleast a £250 line rental. And in the small print there are a select group of countries applicable, as a pose to 's extensive listing & no pre-payment. These are the immediate benefits I can identify.
