Bin Hendi Avenue

smoggie Anybody know what happened to it?
FTD Just wasn't busy enough, I was speaking to the guy in the Boss store and he said they don't need two stores in one mall let alone the amount of stores they have across Dubai. I think most other "luxury" brands are now just concentrating on Dubai Mall. City Centre Diera, is one of Dubai's busiest and most successful malls but it's traffic is driven by lower end goods and essentials eg Carre Four, Sharriff DG. One top of which the recession and the realisation that Dubai is actually quite poor for shopping compared to other major cities. The amount of outlets is saturated and the stock is over priced and dated. smoggie Interesting. I didn't even realise that it had gone. Prime location now though with the metro station outside. Chocoholic I love City Centre, but very rarely went into Bin Hendi avenue. As you say people go there for the low to mid range goods and products. smoggie Yeah Choc's...I like City Centre too. The Bin Hendi thing was a big mistake. I live close by and can honestly say I have been in there twice. Never quite came to terms with MOE or Dubai Mall. Guess I'm old school....Much prefer Lamcey, Jumeirah Plaza and the like..... Errr I'll get my coat. Speedhump And the only reason to go to Ibn Battuta was when Cirque Du Soleil were performing there :D The bookshop at Dubai Mall is bloody marvellous, you should go if you like to read, everything from physics textbooks to huge shelves of manga and superhero comics. :) DPS The concept worked fine till the recession hit. note that the luxury retail segment has been the hardest hit in the last year. Bin Hendi Avenue was never considered a part of City Centre anyway... it was a unit by itself. It was doing very well until recently. Moreover the entire group i beleive had severe cash flow issues and couldn't sustain it any longer.... xty the building was not designed for shopping mall or restaurant complex. low ceiling, corridors, no traffic of people, etc. it's more suitable for offices. but with the metro station just next to it, it's a prime location, they should've change the concept or at least let the traffic from metro station to city center flows through it.
