Best ways to improve air quality in a room?

fayz Hey all, I have a room in the basement that I want to make more livable, it has a bit of a ‘staleness’ to it, there will be someone living there in the near future so I’d like to make it as comfortable as possible. What would you guys recommend to improve the air? Air purifier? Lots of plants? Something else? Is there anyway to test air quality in a room? Any input you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance
^ian^ I definitely would go for an air purifier, I have my eye on an LG one actually, it's the ducks nuts. Will probably get it next month. Concord You may also need a de-humidafier or humidafier if the "staleness" has to do with too much or not enough moisture. And eat the curry outside the room... ^ian^
The one I was looking at for 2500 dirhams dehumidified, scrubbed the air, ionised the air and had a washable filter. fayz Thanks guys much appreciated. forgive my ignorance but where do you buy them? is it a Carrefore purchase or are there speciality shops? ^ian^
The LG is actually available at the LG store in IBN Battuta.
See if they'll give you a special price for 2, I'd been keenly interested in getting one. I used to have one in Australia but lost it in a custody battle... it was great, and especially good if you have smokers or smoke in the room, as it sucks it right out of the air.
Edit: I know you won't be having smoke in the room. fayz Thanks for the suggestion; I'll definitely look into it and keep you posted on pricing. As for the smoke, kids start earlier and earlier…. Concord
That's why I hold on to my RJR Reynolds stock 8) English Girlie Having fun..... doing the shopping boys!!!  sage & onion
Fayz, this is particularly good advice, the LG unit can really improve your living space.
Don't forget to wash your socks now and again

arniegang a cheap and very effective alternative Fayz is an "ionizer" fayz
Thanks I'll check that out, one of my coworkers suggested that as well. Concord
If I am not mistaken, Ionizers work well for dust. The dust particles are charged (positively or negatively, I foget) and then they stick to sufaces (and away from the air) so that the air is "dust free" I don't know what they do for odor or humidity/moisture...but then I don't know much (specially anything more advance that a wind-up clock...)
