Remember what I wrote before that you rubbished and said I was on pills:

To be fair - you should have won that game at a canter, two days ago. Ricky Ponting just hasn't got what it takes to be a captain - he's not ruthless enough (like a Taylor or Waugh). Case in point, I can't think that Steve Waugh would have ever batted on so that one of his players cold get a hundred, so that he could prove the doubters wrong. Australia could have easily won that match by an innings and 277 runs - instead, Ponting has allowed the England batsman to regroup and have another crack at batting, which to be fair, they made a pretty good fist of on a final day pitch with some crack on it like the grand canyon! 370 is a good total for a fourth innings, and has given England some hope now for the next 4 tests.
Well the two batsman that benefited from that 1st test match have more than benefited today, with both Collingwood and Pietersen hitting career best scores! COME ON ENGLAND!!!!

Guys,
Lets not carried away too soon. I agree that England did benefit from their 2nd Innings in the first Test and I agree that Ponting may rue that decision, but there is a long, long way to go and its a damn good batting wicket and we all know just how far down the Aussies can bat.
Its hard not to get excited, but I predict a draw.

That's because Ian has a social life... internet on the weekends? Yeah right?
England have had a good start, but painfully slow. They're in a good position, but a test match goes for 5 days. Adelaide is a small ground, and quite often shield teams can rack up 400+ in a day. It's a batters wicket, a bowler's nightmare.
The prediction is, if there was ever to be a draw, it would be Adelaide, and it wouldn't surprise me. England really should have scored more to be in a better position, but as I said, after 25% of the game and Australia just started their first innings, England have made a good start.
Now I'll leave you nerds to get back to your solitaire.

Hahahahahahaha, what a wind-up merchant you are. I am not biting.
England may just say "fook it" we will bat all day and let the Aussies toil. Its all about the mindset in this game. England have come out on top in this game, I believe, especially following the loss in the first test.

If England say "fook it" and just try to block and pad all day they're going to be in trouble. Spin on a 5th day wicket is impossible just to block and pad away and Warnie is a master in these conditions. He hasn't done much this test, but that's because he's saving himself.

Yeah, definate draw. Aussies can't get us out in time to have a bat and knock off the runs. Same goes vice-versa - we can't bowl the Aussies out quick enough to win. We should have played Monty. Ashley Giles is hardly going to rip through a team with his bowling. I doubt he could run through my sunday league teams side!

Test is same rules basically as ODI except it's 2 innings each side so it's 5DI. Some differences when a follow-on is played, England should force Australia to do that in 3rd test.

Lets get some perspective on this - England were just rubbish and had been papering over the cracks of the fact that they have lost two key batsman, an inspirational leader (Freddie is inspirational, but he's not a master tactitian to go along with it), Harmison couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo, we've lost a key bowler in Simon Jones (who in my opinion was the best bowler in the last Ashes series), and we've finally found a wicket taking spinner that can get out the top players of spin in the world, and he's left carrying the drinks because Ashley Giles might get an extra 10 runs in the game!
Forget the debate over Chris Read and Geraint Jones. To be honest, its a close call, and whilst it was harsh on Read to be dropped, in my opinion they have the number 2 keeper in England in the team, and the number 3 keeper is serving the drinks (the number 1 keeper isn't even on the tour!).
The England coach (Duncan Fletcher) should resign after this series (even if they win the next 3 tests). He's had his day, and the one-day form has been woeful at best!
My prediction is that there will be two changes for the next test. Saj Mahmoud will come in for Anderson (well, they are both as bad as each other), and Giles will make way for Monty. I'll also predict that unless they win the third test, or get a good draw (ie they were on top for the whole match, but are beaten to the win by a combination of some dogged batting and dodgy weather), then Vaughan will return to the team for the fourth test, and will return as captain.
If those things don't happen, Duncan Fletcher should just head straight to his home in South Africa and lock himself in!

Lets get some perspective on this - England were just rubbish and had been papering over the cracks
Are you wearing green and gold?
Don't roll a spinner in Perth unless you think he's truly world class. Perth is a seamer's paradise.

It used to be a seamers paradise, but I hear they relayed the pitch and made a mess of it - now its a dead, batsmans paradise.
I wouldn't be happy with us going into a match with five seamers anyway - but I'd be happier than the situation of having Giles in the team - I'm a better spinner than him!
