Hi guys... back here. If you ask people who supposed to answer your questions they just confuse you more! i tried the car rental companies and they dont seem to know. One say's if you have a residency permit you have to have a UAE DL but another say's if you have an international DL + DL from your country you are fine! I havent yet been issued with Residency permit... can someone answer the question conclusively?

the international DL from your country is valid only when you are on a visit visa. if you have entered on a residency visa, you cannot use it to drive, u have to go thru the process of obtaining a UAE DL(procedure varies)

on another note, what kind of rates have you got from the rental co.s? i'll need to rent a car for a couple of weeks later this month...
