darkstar Hey, are any of the following issues currently present in Dubai or anywhere else in the UAE?; -Environment -Product Safety -Workplace Safety -Sexual Harassment -Misuse of new technology -Human rights -Conflict of interest -Bribes, corruption -Health and well-being -Advertising content -Privacy and security of company records -Treatment of labour (wages, conditions)
uaekid since ever and forever :) Chocoholic Yes these issues are constant and on-going here. Things are changing slowly, but it'll take time. rudeboy lots of bribes and deals going on under the table. And there are lots of places where they are not using the new technology properly. darkstar Yeah it makes sense, im sure a lot of countries have the same problems. But which of these problems are the worst for the UAE? Other then the corruption/under the table bribes that rudeboy mentioned. Roadtester -Environment Palm - censor ordered -Product Safety regional problem -Workplace Safety just take a look! -Sexual Harassment If your south east asian or former soviet -Misuse of new technology IP's blocked by gov -Human rights UAE's been used for rendition i think, maids 'fall' out of windows. -Conflict of interest Anything anti islamic or critical of the state are crimes so anything is buried. -Bribes, corruption less than africa, more than europe. -Health and well-being There are lots of gyms, health places but you pine for being able to take walks etc, which you can kinda do now at this time of the year. -Advertising content as long as its 'all part of a healthy islamic lifestyle' you cant go wrong. -Privacy and security of company records does that exist? -Treatment of labour (wages, conditions People are scared to confront the emirati owners so people are making lunchbox campaigns for the starved workers. rudeboy
