As for BabyDoll.... well no I am not a baby nor do I look like a doll :( I am definitely legal to get into a bar, casino and drive. I got the name when I was trying to log into another forum but all the nicks I chose were used. Somehow BabyDoll kicks in so I use it. If you like just think of the YSL BabyDoll perfume :)
Whats your story Zam?

Kewl if i said ICMS, would that mean something to you? maybe it really is a small world :D :D BabyDoll
Ermmm ... sorry don't know that one. ICMS = International Credit Management Society? Internal Care on Male System? .....
Was with Birell, if you know that one. gregory863 hey baybee! welcome hope u find what y'r loking for. i'm fresh off the plane too. been wandering some finding cool places.
fayz
LMAO there is a thread already on colon cleansing.
Integrated Customer Management System but at times I think I would have preferred the “internal care” over working with ICMS hahaha.
I've heard of Birell, its the property/lands side of NZT right? BabyDoll
That's right. Not sure if they are still around. Really nice guys .. so nice and so long ago I can't remember their names :( the_zooter St.Lucifer Welcome aboard. xty
Welcome to DF. I got half-blood and the look, but don't speak nor understand. Does it count? :D BabyDoll
Where's the other half-blood gone??
Just want to meet more people from home that's all .. Guilo2 Welcome BabyDoll! Where's this home you speak of? NZ? China? BabyDoll
By the way not all Chinese come from China
Home is Auckland
You? Guilo2 Hmm... how far back are we talking about here? :D I was merely checking to be positively sure. There's a healthy population of Aussies and Kiwis in these parts, so you'll begin to trip over them soon enough  For me, Malaysia is (was) home. Now Earth is my village and I'm moving down the street in a couple of months time. If you're just as curious, I should add that not all Malaysians are Malays :) BabyDoll
Cool. I was born in Malaysia as well. Half Malaysian. Grew up in New Zealand. Lived in Singapore and Australia. Now moving to Dubai. All alone..... When I was in Dubai "they" thought I am a Filipina ..
Are you based in Dubai now? What's it like? xty
So, what are you calling yourself? Malaysian? Zealander? Singaporean? Australian? or just back to the root.. Chinese? :D
When in Paris they thought I was a Japanese (due to lots of Japanese tourists). When in Bangkok they thought I was a local/Thai. In Middle East, they thought I'm Filipino. Does my face look too universal? Don't they know from TV or something that we are (East & South East Asians) have similar face ;) Guilo2
What's bringing you here and on your own? No doubt for an extraordinary reason 'cause you could have just as easily picked Australia or Singapore, which would have been the natural choices. I had assumed, wrongly so, that you were already here, like the rest of us, ingesting large amounts of desert sand and sharwamas :D Yeah, in that particular order.
Dubai's a rather unique place... a post I recently read said that expats in Dubai are treating this place like they were permanently on holiday. There's some truth in what she said because personally, I feel as if I'm here for just the weekend, albeit a very lengthy one (11 months and counting). I think many share this belief, and I dare say a relief at times, that there's no yoke of permanency.
The living is good and comfortable. One can get just about anything one desires here, so no worries whatsover with material needs. For an aspiring and talented yuppy like yourself, this place holds much promise. Landing yourself a good job is only a question of time (finance and investments... a brilliant sector).
As for matters closer to the heart, like building new circles of friends, meeting people whom you can depend on, etc, that'll take a fair amount of effort, but it isn't impossible to bridge the ethnic and cultural divides though there's an even more apparent dichotomy between the haves and have-nots. This forum is precisely the place to start, really :D Be it Filipino, Chinese Kiwi or a Venusian, you're okay in my books.
So that's 11 months in a nutshell, copyrighted. You'll have to write your own when you get here. xty
Yeah.. a pretty darn expensive holiday.

I'm looking for cheap foods, stuffs, apartments, but couldn't find here :( Though I still like to live in Dubai (that's why this is my second time to reside here). However, I still miss living in Bangkok. BabyDoll
Wow must be a shocker if you compare BKK and DXB. I love BKK too, you don't have to be rich and can still live like a king and be pampered!! xty
Yeah... you bet. One can have nice food for 30 THB (3 AED) in BKK food court, and 30 AED for DXB, that's 10 times!
Downtown apartment rents are only half than here. BabyDoll
House prices have shot up but still relatively cheap. Shame what happens to Thaksin though. Hope the economy comes back quickly. I'll make sure my next flight will be on TG so that I can stop over in BKK
