Hi everyone, maybe someone can help me?
I'm coming to Dubai for work shortly, and wouldn't mind DJ'n while I'm out here. I've been DJ'n for almost 7 years in Toronto, am well connected in the Toronto scene, and still play regularly (the dayjob makes it hard to keep up) here.
I spin current R&B/HipHop/Reggae, classic house, oldschool, and just general party music...
- Right Click "Save As"
(Current top40 urban, 90's newjack, 80's retro, classic house)
This is a *live* demo, on vinyl. No computers, no edits. This is what you would hear in a club.
BTW, this is an old set, and I have converted 100% to Serato.
Any help would be appreciated! I'll be arriving in Dubai in early December, and staying til April. Please, any contacts or suggestions would help very much!
Thanks!

Dude, just to give you a heads up, you can't just turn up and DJ here. Every club here has to have a licence for each of it's dj's.

what does this license involve?

You have to take a minimum of 36 lessons at Belhasa DJ School
Your sarcasm isn't exactly welcome here. But your insight would be helpful, so if you do have a real answer, please share. Thanks.

First off the MIX wasn't bad, thank you for sharing and good luck in your search.
the issue around licensing is... you can't work with out being sponsored.
The best way to search for something in your field is simply to come here and go clubbing, try to talk to the people in the industry, buddy up and make some contacts (looks like you are doing that starting next month).

ahh, sorry, let me clarify.
I'm actually coming to Dubai already. The DJ stuff is something I do out of love, and I think it would be a great way to meet people and see what Dubai is at night.
As for the mix, thank you for the feedback. It's an old mix, but gives a quick idea of what I can do.
Thanks for the followups, I'm just looking to find a spot to throw down some tracks and to build up a night.
As for the expat community, are there a lot of chinese/korean/japanese in Dubai?
Thanks again to those who've sent me PMs!
