Am I restrcited to travel??

Anonymous What currency do I need to take to travel in Dubai?
londonalgiers Hi, Anyone know, how I can find out if I am restricted from leaving the UAE, I'm out of the UAE now but want to know how I can get some information. Is there a number to call or a website to check. Thanks dresden If you are out of the UAE, how come you are concerned if you are allowed to leave legally? Something is amiss... londonalgiers Had a loan before I left. Guarator defaulted his bank about 6 months ago. I just found out about it (was sending money to his account) want to know if I am restricted to leave the UAE. (If i travel there, would I be allowed to leave) hope that clarofies it Mr Dresdan. dresden You had a loan, and you're gaurantor deafaulted on a loan at his bank? or You had a loan and you both defaulted on that loan? If it's the second, you will be arrested at the airport when arriving! londonalgiers
your 1st question is not clear.
I have a loan >> Got a guarantor for it to be able to leave Dubai >> Guatantor decided to leave the country without informing anyone >> defaulting his own loans and bank.
Where do I stand? dresden You have a loan...
Your Gaurantor for that loan (and others) skips town leaving the loan unpaid.
.... you are still responsible for it.
Don't quote me, but I'm about 99.999999999% sure you will be held liable (as it was originally in your name) and be arrested at the airport upon Arrival londonalgiers Thanks dresden, but is there anyay to check this? anyone know? desertdudeshj
You will need dubaistan dollars, very handy and accepted everywhere. Chocoholic Yeah contact immigration or the bank and see if you've been blacklisted.

dresden I would call the bank before I called immigration for obvious reasons. If they say there is an outstanding balance attached to your name (in default), then you know for sure there is a warrant out for your arrest in the UAE. londonalgiers Spoke to the bank...and they asked me to contact Recovery departement...they do not seem to wanna pick up the phone... I will keep trying. In case the bank has issues a warrant and I was blacklisted, if the loan is repayed fully...would that warrant be cancelled...and would I be removed from the blacklist? dresden possibly, but only the bank can answer that m8. I wouldn't take any advice off an internet chat forum as 'gospel' if you get what i'm saying... Good luck. Let us know how it works out. Chocoholic The currency is UAE Dirhams. However, take a look at the exchange rates and it might be worth bringing US dollars and changing them to Dirhams once you get here as the Dirham is linked to the dollar at around 3.65, so it very often works out better. Try to stick to your original post if you are really serious. Mama
